Finance graduate Oliver Kensington-Palace is looking forward to putting his stamp on Australian racing’s digital landscape via a new podcast centred around tips and betting strategies.
The weekly show, titled The Thoroughbred Trust, will see Kensington-Palace, 28, joined by fellow Penleigh and Essendon Grammar alumni Sebastian Winchester, also 28.
The concept was hatched over a few beers in the MCC’s Percy Beames Bar last month as the duo were comparing Saturday racing notes.
“We were going through the form for Flemington and there was this moment where it just crystallised for both of us: ‘this should be a podcast’,” Kensington-Palace said.
The VRC member said he had no concerns about entering a heavily-saturated market with no real point of difference.
“Listeners want strong, informed opinions and plenty of winners: The Thoroughbred Trust will deliver both.”
“But we don’t take ourselves too seriously, so expect a healthy side of banter,” Kensington-Palace added with a laugh.
Neither Kensington-Palace nor Winchester have any previous podcast experience, but this masthead understands that both enjoy the sound of their own voices.
