Sheza Alibi’s horror defeat in the Golden Eagle has brought an early end to a Halloween party in Cranbourne on Saturday evening.
Following some neighbourhood trick or treating, children and their parents met at the Monti household for light snacks, games and “PG-rated scary movies”.
However, prior to a planned screening of Monster House, host Blake Monti gathered the party in the lounge room to watch the Golden Eagle, where he reportedly had Sheza Alibi “going for a stack”.
What followed was in aggressive violation of the promised PG rating, with parents forced to usher their screaming children out of the room as Sheza Alibi endured a nightmare run throughout before eventually crossing the line in 11th.
Monti reportedly stood paralysed with fear from the 1000m mark, unable to reach for the TV remote despite the desperate pleas of those around him.
“The poor horsey just wanted to run but she was trapped,” said one child with tears rolling down her face.
“I know it’s Halloween but that was way too scary for the kids. I’m pretty rattled myself to be honest,” a parent told The Pakistan Star.
Based on her last two runs, Sheza Alibi’s next start is likely to be handed an R18+ rating to protect minors.
