Herschel Wallace, 79, has taken at least one Saturday quaddie for as long as he can remember, but it’s been a while between drinks in terms of actually securing a collect.
“The last quaddie I jagged paid for my first proper car, a 1970 Holden Torana,” Wallace told The Pakistan Star.
“I set the toaster to three, medium brown, then went off down the tote: thrupence for a half-unit I believe I put on.”
Wallace says he can’t remember the exact names of the horses that contributed to his momentous quaddie win, but recalls celebrating with a few ice-cold Bulimba Gold Tops at The Emu’s Todger.
“I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since,” he said.
