After reportedly ‘loading up’ on his best of the day, a local punter has left Braybrook Hotel patrons awestruck when he confidently declared "she's home" with a furlong still to run, before making the extraordinary decision to completely turn his back on the Sky 1 screen.

This masthead understands that Bevan Peacock, 29, raised one finger in the air while turning, as the subject of his brazen crow lengthened stylishly after hitting the lead. 

“He marched back to his table like he’d just bowled a strike — shoulders back, chest out, smug look on his face — and the bloody race is still going,” a stunned local drinker told The Pakistan Star. 

“He only allowed himself to look back at the screen roughly when the dividends were due to pop up, just to double check how much he’d won.” 

Peacock dialled up the showmanship by downing half a pint in a couple of triumphant post-race gulps. 

“There was a lot of aura around him for the rest of the afternoon,” said another amazed onlooker.

“One random bloke came up to him later and quietly asked him what he liked in the next. 

“I’ve seen early crows end in absolute disaster but the big dog just completely nailed it,” he said.
