A lengthy car seat standoff between a local man and his two-year-old has finally ended following the intervention of a local barrier attendant.

The Pakistan Star understands that the stalemate commenced at around 9.55am on Saturday morning when 32-year-old tiler Glenn Tarrant attempted to load his daughter into her Maxi-Cosi Nero Convertible car seat.

The toddler, who this masthead understands has an extensive history of car seat refusal, remained unmoved for a full 37 minutes despite multiple attempts at coaxing, snack bribery and a fully choreographed rendition of Ms Rachel’s “Hop Little Bunnies”.

A concerned passer-by contacted the barrier attendant via text message after observing some particularly violent salmon-like back-arching from the rogue youngster.

Sporting an impressive ponytail and a practised, assertive demeanour, the barrier attendant had the toddler loaded and secured in the seat within seconds of arriving at the scene.

“He’s just dropped from the sky like Tosen Stardom in the Emirates, he appeared out of absolutely nowhere,” said an incredulous Tarrant.

“When I heard the ‘click’ of the buckle I was just so fucking grateful,” he added.

Witnesses gathered at the scene said that the toddler immediately became “strangely calm” in the presence of ‘ponytail man’.

“It was like she’d been switched off at the wall, she just sat down and started happily playing with her Bluey Beanie Baby,” said one awestruck onlooker.

This masthead has since learnt that the barrier attendant advised tinkering with some gear changes ahead of the next car ride, suggesting that a weighted blanket and a pair of earmuffs may be worth trialling.

The subsequent car trip to Bunnings is understood to have transpired without incident.
