One punters club's Saturday quaddie bank has expressed gratitude at the ongoing financial security brought about by the redevelopment of Moonee Valley racecourse, estimating that the $220 million project has already paid for itself several times over in Friday night losses avoided.

This masthead understands that for the last several Australian summers, perfectly acceptable Saturday quaddie banks of “around $380” were being "completely obliterated” before Friday night work drinks had concluded, with The Valley’s bright lights drawing in the punters club members like moths to a flame.

“It would start with somebody jumping on the group chat at around 5.30pm — usually texting from the pub — saying they liked one in the first at The Valley and that it might be worth ‘chucking something on’, if the group ‘agreed’”, the Saturday bank told The Pakistan Star.

“The thing in the first would invariably go like a busted and then the chasing would start from there.”

"It's basically been a pretty stress-free year-long sabbatical," the bank said, tracing its recovery back to around the time of Via Sistina's successful defence in last year's Cox Plate.

“I’m fucked if they find out about Cranbourne though,” it added, in reference to Victoria’s Southside Cranbourne Friday night meetings set to kick off under lights this week.
