A group of racing punters have found themselves ‘strung up’ in a long line waiting for an international soccer enthusiast to craft a 15-leg multi on the PubTAB’s electronic betting terminal (EBT).
The queue, believed to stretch out as far as ten metres, reportedly included several anxious punters trying to place Randwick quaddies as the first leg rapidly approached.
“I would’ve gone to the counter but some old bloke was getting about a hundred tickets scanned,” said one punter, who ultimately abandoned the queue without placing a bet.
“So I committed to the EBT line and got held-up worse than Wine Tales on Cup day. He didn’t even seem to have a plan, he was just adding legs at random.”
The Pakistan Star understands that, despite laying siege to the EBT in the middle of the Saturday racing rush, the first leg of the man’s multi was not due to kick off for another 36 hours, with Spartak Trnava requiring a clean sheet at home against FC Nitra.
Other fancies included in the multi were Zagłębie Lubin to beat Cracovia, Sepsi OSK at home against FC Botoșani, FK Panevėžys at Žalgiris, and Mladá Boleslav and Slovácko to draw.
The punter reportedly left the venue immediately after placing the now deceased $20 multi and could not be contacted for comment.
