A local form analyst and self-appointed ‘authority’ on all-weather surfaces believes the algorithm may be to blame for his lack of matches on the popular dating platform Tinder.
Despite widening his search distance to beyond 100 kilometres and sacrificing some of his weekly punting budget to liberally deploy super likes, Brad Park, 29, is still yet to ‘break his maiden’ and secure a match.
This masthead has viewed Park’s profile and can confirm that the electrician’s bio describes a ‘synthetic track specialist who will always forgive a good horse one bad run’, alongside interests listed as Canberra Acton, Pakenham Synthetic, Devonport Tapeta aka God’s Carpet, and Entourage.
Park told The Pakistan Star that he has been left surprised and disappointed by the lack of interest in his carefully-curated profile.
"Photo-wise I've cycled through heaps of good holiday snaps: there's the tiger in Thailand, obviously, a solid fish from a trip up north, and I've actually just gone back to the one of me walking the track before the first at Pakenham… I reckon that's my strongest photo, if anything."
“I guess I’m just waiting for my Spirited Defence (9:5-2-0 on synthetic tracks) to come along,” said Park.
A spokesperson for Tinder denied the app’s algorithm would have anything to do with Park’s lack of matches, stating only that the company “respects synthetic racing and surface diversity” and would never allow a user’s surface preference to impact match visibility.
More to follow.
