A slow racehorse has traded the hustle and bustle of a city mega-stable for a more relaxed lifestyle centred around beach swims and the odd midweek TAB meeting.

The Pakistan Star cannot name the son of Snitzel for legal reasons, but can reveal that he is a $1.8 million Easter yearling who finished unplaced in all four city starts, prior to being gelded.

The horse is understood to have embarked upon the long float journey to Cairns after his previous trainer’s accountant suggested a "change of scenery" might do the four-year-old some good.

The Pakistan Star can reveal that the gelding is "a different horse" since relocating, catching the eye late when fourth at his Cannon Park debut and reportedly expressing a newfound interest in journaling.

Reached for comment via a spokesperson, the gelding said he had "never felt more present and aligned".

“I think the churn of Saturday metro racing was never really 'me',” the horse said.

“Up here I get to run around with a few mates in the bush, hopefully pick up a cheque, then hit the surf," the horse said.

The gelding is believed to be in light work, with a report suggesting he's "not in any rush" to race again, and may instead spend some time "picking fruit”.
